Katie and Grace

Hello, we are two sighthounds who like to blog and Tweet.

I am Katie Whippet - I am a brindle and white whippet, who likes to sleep and eat. I do have some duties, I keep the sofa safe, bark at the bin men, steal and hide shoes and help the puppy evict cats from our garden.

I am Grace Puppy - I am Grace Puppy - I am not actually a puppy any more, but, because I am young, Katie Whippet calls me puppy. I like to whine and play. My duties are keeping watch for cats in the garden.

We live with Mummy, and two cats, Yazz Cat and Tom Cat and like to tell everyone about what we are getting up to.

Sunday with Friends - Photo Special

Grace Puppy

Today we's went walkings with our friends, Eli, Loki, Shannow, Pippin  and Biscuit.

It was raining, which is normal for walkings with Lurcher friends.  But Mummy managed to get some pictures of us doing our zoomies!

I was OK for most of the walkings - but, I am very small compared to Shannow, Biscuit, Eli and Loki - which made me a bit frightened.  Katie Whippet, just stayed out of the way!

Got dragged out in the pawing rain for walkings with the Lurcher crowd!  I spent the hole time keeping out of the way, and preserving a sense of dignity - Something Grace Puppy doesn't know anything about!
Here we are!

Pawtrates

Ooo, we are so excited and happy!  Yesterday we went to see our cousins and mummy collected our pawtrates!

There are painted by @sheliloki (Twitter) in acrylic paint on canvas.

She has captured our pawsonalities perfectly - Katie looks slightly worried - because Katie always looks slightly worried - even when she is really excited, she is still worried.

I look like I am going to get up to some serious mischief!  Because I am always up to something.

Mummy has put the pawtrates up on the wall in the living room.

Here they are!

Mummy says that Sheena has done a brilliant job because I am so dark around my face, it is difficult to pick out my features.

Katie Whippet has got blue brindle on her head, but is also going grey! But Sheena got every bit of detail, even the pink bit on Katie's nose.

We have even got our collars on!

Chip(munk)s with everything

Grace Puppy

Ooo, we be quite excited!  Mummy brought some new friends home yesterdays!  The only problems is - we's not been allowed near them!

Mummy has got two chipmunks!  They do not be living in the house though - No... They be living in the Wiggy (Guinea Pig) run at the bottom of the garden. They have the old ferret cage inside the Wiggy run, which has a roof on it and is very secure.

It is good because Mummy keeps going out and down the garden to see the Chipmunks, so I can go too!  They be looking like little squirrel monsters - and they being very fast, and they be doing climbings too!

Mummy says they are a bit frightened at the moments, so they are settling into their cage - getting used to where they are, and what food they have.  Mummy has bought them toys, so they can have a play - they are strange toys - a wheel for doings runnings - so we have something in common - we likes zoomies - but, I do my zoomies in a field! Not in a wheel.  They have a rope for doings climbings - I do not do climbings, unless it is up the stairs to go on Mummys beds!  But I does like playings with ropes!

Mummy says they can have very small amounts of our kibble! I don't be thinkings so! It is ours! But then Mummy explains, by very small amounts she means one or two bits of kibble a day - I be thinkings that might be OK's, but will have to check with Katie Whippet.  They also bes eatings sunflower seeds and peanuts - eh? Are they beings a bird too? They can also have small amounts of fruit and veg - so they also be Wiggies!

They are also very rude! Because they poo anywhere - but then again, so does Katie Whippet, so  I will let them off..... (I hide to do my poos).

So, when I went out for my 5.30am wee this mornings, Mummy came down the garden with me - dressing gown and trainers.....how embarrassing for a Grace Puppy - to see what Chipmunks be doings!  They were asleepings - like all other sensible beings at 5.30am on a Sundays! Except for me - who needed a wee!

Mummy has been taking photos of the chipmunks - who she has named Berry and Bramble.  Berry is greedy and quite outgoing - she has even been playing zoomies on the wheel.  Bramble likes to hang upside down from the top of the cage - hence her name Bramble.  Mummy says Berry will be like a round berry if she carries on eating the way she is!

OMD, what on earth has Mummy got now?  Apparently they be called chipmunks, and they be little squirrel monsters.

We's not seen them properly!  They were taken straight down the garden and put in a cage in the Guinea Pig run!

To add insult to injury! Apparently they have been offered our Collards Kibble - I mean - How Rude!  Mummy keeps offering them fruits and various other things - eh? What about us? We just standings in the gardens whilst Mummy chirps and coos at what is basically a rodent - with a cute face and a fluffy tail!

I am Katie Whippet, and I am not impressed! It won't be long before one bites her.....

Small World (sofa surfing)

Grace Puppy

Ooo, we's had an very exciting days today! We's met up with Sheena from the lurcher walk way back in March because she be very good at doing paintings!  Mummy wanted to have a paintings of Katie Whippet and I to hang on her livings rooms wall.

Sheena needed to get some very good photos of us, to be able to do the paintings of us, so she cans remembers what we's looks likes.  So we's be goings around to her house so we could have our pictures taken, and to see our houndy pals Eli and Loki.

When we got there, Loki was very bouncy, which was very strange because bouncing is my job! He is also bigger than me, so I did not join in.

Sheena's Mummy was there too, and they realised that Sheena's Mummy's maiden name is the same as my Mummys surname!  They then realised the had met before! Sheena's Mummy is my Granddads cousin! That makes Sheena and Mummy 2nd cousins!

If we had never gone on the lurcher walk, that rainy morning in March, we would have never have known!  If Mummy had not have asked Sheena to do the paintings of us, she would not have realised that Mummys surname was the same as Sheena's Mummys!

Katie and I are very happy because now we have an Auntie Sheena - and Mummy has a 2nd cousin!  That makes Eli and Loki our very own houndy cousins too!

Because we were houndy cousins, we made ourselves very welcome on their sofa!

A helping paw

Grace Puppy

Since we's been on Twitter, we have made lots of new friends!  Our new friends like to help hounds that have not found their forever homes yet, and are living in kennels.

I am a very lucky puppy because I have only ever been loved - but, before Katie Whippet came to mummy, we are not so sure about her past!

This makes me really sad, because all hounds should have a loving forever home - so, Katie and I like to do our houndy bit for helping not so fortunate hounds.

To do this, we buy things where money is to be donated to hounds kennels - to help them make sure that all the hounds they care for can find nice forever homes.

Our friend on Twitter @holly_bobbins Grandma - Grandma Bobbins knits Mini Me hounds! Check this pair out! As you can see they are made to look the same as we do! Even downs to the white tips on our tails!

If you would be liking a Mini Me Hounds - be contacting @holly_bobbins via twitter.
Katie and Grace Mini Me

Cute or what?
Also,  fellow blogger and our twitter friend @davidsbestmate who has written a luffly booky about his adventures 'My Ritings' which is sold in aid of hounds in kennels - Has gone one step further and had his pawtrate done! It shows all his favourite things! Around a lovely picture of him - Handsome David!  This is also being sold in aid of poor unfortunate hounds.  You can be findings his booky and Pawtrate for sale at www.davidsbestmate.blogspot.com

Davids Pawtrate! Handsome!

Katie Whippet doesn't like to talk about hounds that have not founds their forever homes because it does make her upsets! She doesn't like to bes admittings it either.  But all hounds do have her total support - because she knows what it was like to be passed from pillar to post during her very early years.

Holey Friday! (Photo special)

Katie and Grace

Mummys tooks us to see the wabbit hole again today.  She said it was a special walkings so we could spend time investigating the ditch and the wabbit holes!

On the way over the horse field to see the wabbit holes, Katie started to run!  Katie never runs when she is out with me, because I tend to try to trip her up, and want to play, but we both did runnings to the Wabbit Holes!

It was raining so we gots very wet! But Mummy did to takings of photos of us - mostly of Katie, because she had her head down holes most of the time - I did bouncings in the ditch.

Here are our photos:

Holey Bunnies

Katie and Grace

We's doings a postings togethers abouts the wabbits we did chasings of todays.

Mummy took us for a walkings this mornings, and we did see some squirrel monsters, in the woods, so we did chasings of those - then we went across the field, and I (Grace Puppy) did zoomies with my cola bottle.

Whens we gets to the edge of the fields, we do be seeings wabbits in the ditch on the other side of the path.  There were lots of holes in the bank of the ditch.

I (Grace Puppy) was so excited that I did bouncings over to see the wabbits - but they had all disappeared by the time I had got there.

Katie Whippet, is a bit more of an expert with wabbits than I am. So, whilst I am bouncing up and down the ditch looking for the wabbits, Katie is doing a bit of closer investigation work: - She has her head down a wabbit hole!  Not only that, but she is also digging at the bank of the ditch.

I continue to do bouncings in the ditch - much to mummys delight, disgust - who by this time is standing, watching Katie Whippet doing her bit for earth moving equipment.

Mummy calls Katie Whippet, Katie ignores Mummy, Mummy calls me, I ignores mummy.  Mummy carries on standing watching two hounds one bouncing like a gazelle, the other doing JCB impressions.

We's not doings as we are being asked..... This can only mean one thing - we's going to ends up on our leads...

Ooo, got to catch us firsts....

That was not too difficults, as Katie was stationary - and Mummy just had go into the ditch to get her....

Oh, OKs then, I will comes back... did you mention treats?

Oh, Katie is coming back too - look at the state of her! For a dog who will not usually get her paws wet, she is covered in soil, worms, leaf mold, bits of twigs.

So's as feared we are backs on our leads.  Mummy still took us for a bit more of a walkings though.

Then she took us to the river path, and let us off our leads for a little bit more of a run.

We's still very excited about seeings the wabbits - so I did a bit more bouncing, and Katie did a bit more sniffings.

Then we's went homes for snoozes.

Excitings day!
